Protection of the environment
Novelis Foil & Technical Products has implemented an environmental management system based on standard ISO14001. At plant level, the approach is realised by the application of equipment that preserves air and groundwater quality and recycles all manufacturing scraps. A special programme is carried out internally to increase the awareness and training of personnel on the subject.
All five plants are ISO14001 certified.
Good hygiene practices
The food and pharmaceutical industries demand guarantees of packaging hygiene.
Situated at the start of the supply chain, Novelis’ foil meets mandatory standards on contact with foodstuffs. Furthermore, the company prides itself on good hygiene practices at its production facilities, in line with international food and pharmaceutical packaging standards.

Safety at work, in the vicinity of the sites, has been a key performance indicator within the Novelis Group for several years.
All five foil manufacturing sites have obtained registration to OHSAS 18001 the internationally recognised system for Occupational Health and Safety Management:
