Two foil stock manufacturing processes offer greater flexibility
Novelis uses two types of foil stock on its rolling units. Foil stock made through the direct chill casting and hot rolling process (DC foil stock) is ordered externally. The other, made by continuous casting (CC foil stock), is produced at Dudelange or Rugles. This double sourcing provides flexibility and security. It also enlarges the range of alloys and metallurgical characteristics, therefore the properties available for various aluminium foil uses. | |
