Overview
The Luedenscheid site located in Germany’s Sauerland region is part of the Novelis Foil & Technical Product platform dedicated to the production of aluminium foil.
At Luedenscheid, where foilstock is supplied by Ohle Continental Foil, our other German site located less than 20 km away, production comprises two major ranges; converter foil and technical products:
Converter foil is produced mainly for the flexible packaging industry and is manufactured with four highly efficient quarto rolling mills with a working width of 1,135 mm, to a minimum thickness below 6µm. Luedenscheid converter customers can enjoy the benefits of a flexible system which allows minimum quantities of approx. 1.5tonnes.
Technical products cover a great variety of cable wrap and pipe specifications, manufactured to suit the demanding requirements of over 500 customers in more than 50 countries and in various sectors: building, electrical, data systems…
For this, the site is equipped with several technologies such as extrusion, lacquering, laminating, lubrication, embossing, metallising and slitting. There is also a specialised lacquer facility where continuous development work with new in-house lacquers is taking place.
